Early literacy training is critical to the success of a child's later education and has been linked to overall health. In 1985, Rotary declared basic literacy to be a pre-condition to the development of peace. Rotarians work with children, parents, and educators to encourage and build reading skills at an early age. Our MISSION
Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, As Rotarians, we support education for all children and literacy for children and adults. We take action to empower educators to inspire learning at all ages. We share our knowledge and experience with educators and other professionals who work with vulnerable populations.
CLIP 1, 2 and soon 3
Following the success of CLIP 1, CLIP 2 focuses specifically on Early Chilhood Literacy the Rotary Club of Calgary (Canada), Pursat (Cambodia), and TukTuk Charity (Cambodian NGO). The 3 prong strategy: BUILD, ACCESS, SUSTAIN hopes to fill the resource gap in Cambodia. We are currently planning CLIP 3 which is hopefully beginning in January 2024. We give children a positive early education and empower teachers to develop and share their own resources. CLIP combines best practices, innovations and new technology to provide kindergarten resources and build capacity in rural schools in Cambodia.
